The Pasadena Youth Council (PYC) advises the Human Services Commission on issues of importance to the youth of Pasadena.
Goals of the Pasadena Youth Council:
- Provide youth with a forum for civic engagement in Pasadena
- Advance the vision for youth in accordance with the mission and vision of the Human Services & Recreation Department.
- Create opportunities for youth involvement in decision-making in the community on matters affecting youth
The Pasadena Youth Council was re-established in November of 2008. The Youth Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of the month from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.

Programs for Youth
Youth Ambassador Program
The goal of the Ambassador Program is to promote work experience and job opportunities for youth. This program is only for Pasadena area high school students. Day One is a nonprofit organization providing effective, high quality and culturally-sensitive public health education, intervention, and policy development. Day One builds vibrant, healthy cities by advancing public health, empowering youth and igniting change.
Summer R.O.S.E. (Rewarding Opportunities in Summer Employment) Program
The Summer ROSE Program provides summer employment opportunities for eligible Pasadena youth ages 14 to 24. For over 30 years, the program has annually employed almost 200 youth workers in various job fields, historically in the public sector.
Workforce Investment ACT (WIA) Youth Program
The Workforce Investment ACT (WIA) Youth Program is a year round program, providing eligible youth the support, education, and training that will assist in identifying and developing career objectives, while completing a high school education.
Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is the leadership team of Pasadena Public Library Teen Services. TAB implements change in our community, promotes library services, and advocates for teen and youth services.
