PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project site is the southeast corner of Avenue 64 and Church Street.  The property is an irregularly shaped lot that is approximately 16.49 acres in size. There are 12 buildings ranging in age from 1918 to 1998, surface parking and a swimming pool on the site.  Primary access to the site is via Avenue 64, through property leased from the neighboring Church of the Angels at 1050 Avenue 64.  Secondary emergency access is via Church Street, with a separate maintenance facility access at the northern end of the property.

The four phase Master Plan contemplates the demolition of a 5,978 square foot Keck Center recreation facility built in 1983 and a swimming pool, and the construction of a new 10,413 square foot multipurpose building to house food preparation areas, a dining room, and art and music rooms; addition of 52 parking spaces in the lower level of the new subterranean garage structure; new recreational space (including a new pool); a reconstructed entrance and welcome kiosk; and improvements to surface parking areas. The number of clients served and the number of staff needed to service the programs will not increase.
