My Masterpiece Program
The My Masterpiece Program uses the collections of Pasadena’s arts and cultural organizations as the basis for age-appropriate programs and experiences. All PUSD 2nd grade students participate in a specialized public art tour of the Civic Center and have pre-and post-visit materials. These docent tours are led by Side Street Projects.
The 2020 My Masterpieces program public art tours for PUSD Second graders was in person prior to the pandemic and pivoted to a virtual format for the end of the school year: https://www.sidestreet.org/my-masterpieces-virtual-tour
Student Art Wall
The Student Art Wall showcases exemplary artwork that is selected each year by Arts & Culture Commissioners from PUSD’s No Boundaries district-wide student art exhibition of K-12 artworks. The Student Art Wall at City Hall was created in 2008 to showcase these selected works in the Commission’s own exhibition: Bridging Boundaries. Selected artworks receive accommodation at PUSD’s exhibition, and are then professionally framed and photographed for the now On-line exhibition.

PUSD / Burbank Airport Art Banner Competition
Student work is also supported through a collaboration with PUSD for the Burbank Airport Art Banner competition. Each year, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority commissions one student artwork from each city for the airport tower. The Arts Commission selects a winner from three PUSD finalists, whose airport themed artwork is then reproduced for the large scale format on display for a period of 4 months.
