The City of Pasadena is pleased to announce the launch of 'Our Pasadena - Putting the Plan in Motion'. This highly anticipated program is a major step toward implementation of the City's recently updated General Plan, which guides future growth and development for the City.
Our Pasadena will focus on implementation - updating Pasadena's Zoning Code and establishing neighborhood-specific design and land-use goals for all eight of the City's Specific Plans: Central District, East Pasadena, East Colorado, Fair Oaks/Orange Grove, Lamanda Park, Lincoln Avenue, North Lake, and South Fair Oaks. The Zoning Code will be updated to establish new development standards and design guidelines that support the vision, goals, and policies set forth in the Specific Plans and the General Plan.
The program will include numerous opportunities for public participation and community input, starting with a series of educational community open houses in March. Staff from the City's Planning and Community Development Department will be on hand at each open house to provide an introduction to Our Pasadena and to address any questions about the effort.
Community Open Houses will be held on the following dates and locations:
1. Thursday, March 8th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Community Center
2. Thursday, March 15th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pasadena Senior Center
3. Thursday, March 29th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Victory Park
Following the open houses, the City will host workshops in each of the eight Specific Plan Areas in late spring 2018. These workshops will allow people to gain a more detailed understanding of the specific goals for each area. The spring workshop schedule and locations will be posted on the project website, www.ourpasadena.org.
