The Neighborhood Services Unit is primarily responsible for coordinating presentations at Neighborhood Watch meetings, Business Watch Meetings, and other community events citywide.
A two-week advance notice is recommended so the unit can prepare the presentation. All presentations must be schedule so that they do not conflict with major events and meetings, which often times require using all available Pasadena Police personnel. Examples of such events: UCLA home games, certain holidays requiring high visibility and extra patrols, (4th of July, New Years, Halloween) concerts, and other high profile activities scheduled in the city.
Weekend events must have prior approval from a supervisor. A minimum 4-hour event is required in order to gain such approval. Examples of such weekend events: Block Parties, Community sponsored carnivals and health fairs, parades, and similar activities. A minimum of 30 days is recommended in order to accommodate permits and other requirements for set up.
Please remember that requests for K-9 officer, Mobile Substation, Motor Officer or helicopter fly overs, require additional pre-planning.
The Pasadena Police Department stands ready to assist the residents and businesses in our city in whatever way we can. We hope that the information provided serves to assist you in planning your event or meeting.
