Lt. Bill Grisafe joined the Pasadena Police Department in 1995 after earning his Bachelor Degree from Cal Poly Pomona. Bill has worked a variety of different assignments over his 25 year career, including Patrol, detectives and the gang unit. He spent several years as both an investigator and manager in the Department’s Professional Standards Unit. He served as a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team and was assigned to the Air Operations Section as a unit supervisor. He is currently assigned to the Chief’s Office as the Chief’s Adjutant and the Department’s Press Information Officer.
While managing the Professional Standards Unit, Bill initiated numerous changes to the different policies and procedures in the review of personnel complaints and Use of Force incidents. Modifications such as the 30-Day Review of Use of Force incidents and the improvement of the Administrative Review process for complaints, helped to significantly decrease force by officers and streamlined the personnel complaint investigation process.
Bill is a Graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and the California Police Chiefs Association Executive Leadership Institute. He enjoys working and meeting with the community to solve problems and improve the City of Pasadena.
