Criminal Investigations Division
Commander Marcia Taglioretti oversees the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), one of the Pasadena Police Department’s most complex and critical divisions. CID encompasses both the Violent Crimes and Major Crimes sections, bringing together a wide range of specialized investigative units under her leadership. These include the Robbery/Homicide Unit, Street Crime Unit, Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Financial Crimes, Burglary, the Special Victims Unit, Special Investigations (narcotics), and Forensic Services.
In her role, Commander Taglioretti provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and executive support to all detectives and specialized personnel assigned to the division. She ensures that investigations are conducted thoroughly, professionally, and with a strong emphasis on collaboration across units. Her leadership promotes intelligence-driven enforcement efforts, coordinated case management, and proactive crime-reduction strategies.
Commander Taglioretti also plays a key role in shaping investigative priorities, fostering interagency partnerships, and ensuring that complex cases—from violent crimes to financial fraud—are addressed with precision and care. Her commitment to public safety guides the division’s efforts to protect victims, pursue offenders, and enhance the overall quality of life in the community. Under her direction, CID continues to advance innovation, accountability, and excellence in criminal investigations.
