Defenders of the Union

DESCRIPTION

Bravely guarding the Raymond Street side of Memorial Park stands a Union soldier cast in bronze. The natural green hue of the soldier's bronze surface echoes the natural landscape of the park where visitors can enjoy the cool shade of the trees on a warm Pasadena afternoon. Dedicated Memorial Day, 1906, Inscribed: “Erected By The Citizens of Pasadena To Perpetuate The Memory Of The Defenders Of The Union ’61 to ‘65"
