EnSconce'd

DESCRIPTION

EnSconce'd marks the nexus of art and science by challenging viewers to orient themselves between Caltech and Pasadena Community College's Art Department. Sculptural vectors direct audiences toward scientific landmarks while elevated architectural forms ground the viewer to the site.

EnSconce'd by John O'Brien, created as part of Series 1 of the City’s Rotating Public Art Program.

Rotating Public Art Program:

The City of Pasadena’s Rotating Public Art Program was launched by the Cultural Affairs Division in 2011 to enliven the urban landscape with publicly accessible artworks. The Program complements the permanent artworks commissioned by the City’s Private Development and Capital Improvement Public Art Programs by temporarily installing loaned contemporary sculptures in each of Pasadena’s seven Council Districts. This temporary public art program aims to expand the context for public art in Pasadena. Now in it’s fourth iteration, the Rotating Public Art Program has exhibited a total of 30+ artworks throughout the City, producing a dynamic visual experience for residents and visitors alike.
