Sculptures of laser-cut steel fig leaves with porcelain enamel finish and changeable lightboxes. Along Pacific Alley oversized fig leaves climb the rear exterior walls of the Armory Center for the Arts and the nearby Marriot Hotel. These laser-cut, steel fig leaves reference the rich vines covering other local buildings and the Mission days of Pasadena when figs and other fruit were introduced to the area. These sculptures incorporate multiple aspects of art history with images representing current exhibitions and contemporary cultural events as well as scenes celebrating the artwork and cultural activities from historical Pasadena. The artist presents these artworks in two leaf forms: either porcelain enamel on metal disks or lightbox illuminated changeable photographic transparencies. A third leaf design contains the legend for all of the displayed artwork, including artist names and titles.
