DESCRIPTION
Margaret Nielsen's mosaic fountain and floor design pay tribute to the rich history and the architecture of the City of Pasadena. The floor mosaic in front of the fountain depicts a medallion of intertwined roses. The fountain continues the rich color scheme and rose motif and incorporates 8 postcard images. Postcards portray historic sites and important images of Pasadena: from the orange groves of the early 20th century, architecture, City Hall, Colorado St. Bridge, Gamble House, Rose Bowl, and parade floats to space exploration and technology of the future at Cal Tech.
