Elevated Levels of Flea-Borne Typhus

The Pasadena Public Health Department (PPHD) is reporting epidemic levels of typhus fever this year. Typhus fever is a disease spread to humans by infected fleas. In 2018, 20 Pasadena residents have been confirmed to have typhus fever, well above the expected one to five cases per year. Public Invited to Healthy Retail Market Celebrations

The public is invited to celebrate two neighborhood stores that demonstrate local commitment to providing affordable and healthier food options. The Corner Market and Los Robles Market are the first two stores in Pasadena to receive the Healthy Retail Program Mini-Grant. The Pasadena Public Health Department (PPHD) has partnered with the Crisis Text Line to bring awareness around emotional well-being and mental health. Cannabis Health Education Campaign

The Pasadena Public Health Department (PPHD) has launched a campaign to inform the public about the health effects of cannabis, commonly known as marijuana. The goal of the local educational campaign is to raise awareness about the health effects of cannabis use and the legal consequences of cannabis consumption while driving which can impair driving abilities.
