The City of Pasadena’s Rent Stabilization Department participated in the Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Pasadena City Hall, joining community members for an event centered on history, culture, freedom, and connection.

Hosted by the City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department and the NAACP, the annual celebration brought residents, families, community organizations, and City departments together for an afternoon of free family-friendly activities, entertainment, and community engagement.

RSD staff hosted an outreach table where attendees could learn more about Pasadena’s rent stabilization laws, tenant protections, landlord responsibilities, and rental housing resources. Two RSD Housing Counselors were available to speak with community members, answer questions, and share information about the rent stabilization laws in effect in Pasadena. Many residents left the table with a better understanding of available resources and the department’s services.

To create an interactive and family-friendly experience, RSD invited attendees to participate in housing and Juneteenth-themed trivia through a prize wheel and cornhole games. The activities were especially popular with younger attendees, who were excited to play, answer questions, and win RSD giveaways. Overall, the event provided a fun and meaningful opportunity for RSD to connect with the community and share helpful housing information in an engaging way.
