The Complete Streets process began in October 2013 by sending out a questionnaire/survey to obtain information from residents on their traffic related concerns. A working group of San Rafael area residents and a kick-off meeting was held in November 2013 to discuss the Complete Streets Program and the results of the initial survey.
Subsequent follow-up community meetings through November 2014 and rounds of funding procurement produced the following concept:
- 2020 – Secured grant funding for design and construction
- 2021 – Civil Engineering Design
- 2022 – Resident Outreach
- 2024 – Construction (start January and finish end of April)
