On March 9, 2020, the City of Pasadena awarded the Sewer Relining and Point Repair 2020 Project, and is scheduled to be working between May 2020 and November 2020.
Description:
The rehabilitation of 21,000 lineal feet of sewer mains varying in size from 6 to 15 inches using a process of cured-in-place pipe relining. The project also includes approximately 100 feet of repairs to broken and cracked sewer main segments or segments with severe joint offsets.
Justification:
The project is consistent with the City Council’s goal to “Improve, maintain and enhance public facilities and infrastructure.” It also supports the Public Facilities Element of the General Plan by maintaining public facilities to enhance the quality of life of the community
Environmental Analysis:
On March 9, 2020 City Council determined the project is categorically exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines in Section 15301 (c), Existing Facilities, of the California Code of Regulations Title 14, Chapter 3. This exemption includes minor alterations involving negligible expansion of use beyond that previously existing. There are no changed circumstances or new information which would require further environmental review.
