Academy Preparation for Police Officer Trainee Applicants

The mission of the of the PREP Program is to prepare Police Officer (trainee) applicants for academy training hosted at the Orange County Sheriffs Academy. Sessions for this program will be on one designated Saturday of the month from 7:00 am - 9:00 am. Registration for the sessions are on a first come basis. The PREP Program is designed to monitor an individual’s progression until official hiring. The training sessions will cover:

  • Academy memorization work
  • Education on health and wellness
  • Basic marching skills and rehearsals for inspections
  • Physical stretching exercises, strength, and conditioning drills.
  • Physical fitness testing for preparation of academy and POST requirements
  • Expectations and overview of the Orange County Sheriff’s Academy protocols

Physical Fitness Waiver Form

Participants need to be at least 20 years of age and interested in a career as a Police Officer with the City of Pasadena. Applicants in the background phase are highly encouraged to participate in the program. This academy preparation course is voluntary and free of charge. The Pasadena Police Department’s Physical Fitness waiver must be brought to the first session signed with a valid State or U.S. Government I.D.
